Is Permanent Makeup Right for You?
Your Journey Starts with Eligibility
-
Your scar or stretchmark must be fully healed before we can tattoo. Most cases that is 1 year. The scar must not be keloid . Stretchmarks that are very wide and deep (such as those caused by Crushing disease) may not be a good candidate. You must be in good health (able to heal normally)..
-
Cosmetic tattooing uses the same basic set of techniques as traditional tattoos with some small differences. Cosmetic tattoos and permanent make up fade faster because the pigment is deposited at the top of the dermis layer of skin while body art tattoo ink is deposited deeper in the dermis. Eye and lip tattoo’s will fade over time but some pigment will remain. Two sessions are required to achieve most goals. A second session ensures proper pigmentation for several years. There can be changes during the second session as well such as color change, shape perfection in addition to adding more pigment. Most PMU is performed using a rotary tattoo machine and smaller diameter needles that traditional tattooing. How fast they will fade depends on many factors including techniques used, pigments used, skin type (oily skin doesn’t retain pigment as well), UV exposure (SPF will protect tattoo) and certain skin care products such as retinols, acids and peels like may also lighten pigment.
-

Your Aftercare Journey
Your Healing Excellence
Proper aftercare is the key to achieving beautiful, long-lasting results. Here's your complete healing roadmap.
-
Keep your treated area clean and protected during these crucial first days. Apply Aquaphor as demonstrated during your appointment to maintain proper moisture levels. Gently cleanse the area twice daily using only mild, non-acidic soap - avoid any anti-aging or acne products that could interfere with healing. Pat dry with a clean paper towel, never rub or scrub the delicate skin.
-
This is when your body's natural healing process kicks into high gear. Scabbing around eyebrows is completely normal - resist the urge to pick or disturb these protective scabs as they're essential for proper pigment retention. Your lips may begin shedding skin around day 3-5, which is also perfectly normal. Continue your gentle cleansing routine while avoiding sun exposure, water submersion, and activities that cause excessive sweating.
-
The pigment begins to settle deeper into your skin during this phase. You may notice some color changes as the treated area continues to heal - this is expected and part of the process. Lips may experience a second round of gentle skin shedding during the first two weeks. Continue protecting the area from harsh elements and maintain your gentle care routine.
-
Your permanent makeup is now fully healed and the pigment has settled into its final appearance. This is when you can schedule your important second session to perfect the color saturation and make any necessary adjustments for optimal results.
-
No submersion in water (pools, baths, lakes, hot tubs) for 2 weeks
Limit sun and UV exposure for 2 weeks
Avoid letting shower water run directly on your face
No harsh cleansers, retinols, or chemical products
